Refurb of 390SE - keep factory colour or change it?
Discussion
I have had one of my TVRs repainted back to factory colour from a wrong colour (but good quality) repaint. I am all for going original!
With that said, it is only original once - once you paint it you don't have original paint. Any colour you change to can be reversed by a future keeper, so certainly not a scar for life on the originality front.
If you do change the colour the big challenge is making sure you get the new colour in to the engine bay, door shuts, inner lips of wheel wells and so on. A good job is very expensive; so it is cheaper to accept the original colour.
Good luck on the decision, and we need photos!
