Following Lazyitus' thread on meeting random PHers, I wondered how many of you are 'secret' PHers - i.e. you tend not to advertise your clandestine pistonhead activities to those around you?

Or do you outrightly declare yourself as pistonhead-mad?

Me personally? I tend to keep my ramblings on here firmly underwraps, but in the 'normal' world I am a self-confessed car nut beyond the call of duty!

I'm the opposite - in my "normal" life I tend to stay fairly quiet about car stuff as many of my friends are simply not into it.

Now and then I slip in a little anecdote about this website I sometimes visit - nothing more though

Nope I freely admit to all about being a car nut and hooked on PH. But then I am seen as quite eccentric.

I'm the same. Most of my mates wouldn't know how to log on to a website and as for chatting/making friends, "What a sad baed !".

Well, since my business revolves around cars. I talk about it alot with my friends, who are all car nuts. When i have dinner with my parents each week, there is always a conversation starting ..

On PH this week..

I mostly maintain a low profile, except to close friends.

After all, I have national security to think about, and M is most insistant upon this point.

When repeating various stories and situations i've read on here its very difficult to credit the source. As soon as you say internet forum you loose all credibility You then make it worse by trying to explain what PH is.

This is exactly my problem! When I divulge my newly sourced material on the world/cars/health/sex etc. and people ask me, "who told you that?", I'm like...

errrr.... can't... remember...

Didn't somone start a fantastic thread on here about their kids talking like this once?

PH offspring: Then we came home on, like, a bus.

PH'er Dad: You mean a coach?

PH offspring:

PH'er Dad: A coach - you know - "like a bus..."

PH offspring:

Sorry. It tickled me at the time and this just brought it all back. Thanks!
