My girlfriend went to the Dr's today worried about a mole on her thigh, it was previously just a small dot, its now got bigger, raised and dark bits around the edge - obviously we were both worried so she wanted to see what the Dr said.....
She has told its not something she is worried about??

I am not a doctor, but a friend of mine's wife had a mole on her thigh which her GP dismissed as benign. She died in 2000 of malignant melanoma. If it's irregular, dark, itching, new, raised above the surrounding skin - any or all of these symptoms, get her to ask to be referred to a dermatologist a.s.a.p. It's too damned important to be polite about.
