Luxor TV stuck on standby
Discussion
Evening all.
We've got a Luxor lux-40-914-tvb 40" TV that won't come out of standby, the red LED just flashes. Google suggests this might be the PSU, but I can't find a guide on how to test it. I'm not really up on electronics so I'm lost. Found a few videos on youtube for testing voltages, but they don't show where to put the negative connection & I can't get hold of the diagrams they use to know what to test either.

Sounds like a PSU
I should get a quote for repair. There are still some TV repair people about.
Just a word of caution. Power supplys in TVs hold massive voltages in the capacitors on the circuit board.
If you do not know what you are looking for then dont mess with it. They maintain these voltages even when unplugged.
At best you will feel like you have been kicked by a horse,at worst it will kill you.
