1Dmkiv for motorsport?
Discussion
Hello guys/girls,
After adding the Sigma 120-300S to my arsenal, I'm now thinking the weak point in my setup is my 5Dmkii. I also have a 5D mkiii body, and use both while trackside (usually 120-300 on 5D3 and wide lens for panning on the 5D2, since AF is not so important).
So my question is, should I replace the mkii with a 1Dmkiv, or another 5D3? Or wait out for the 1DX prices to come down?
I really want full weather sealing, plus the 1.3 crop would work well with the 120-300. Although I don't really trust the weather sealing on the Sigma lens, so maybe that's a moot point....? More FPS/better buffer would be appreciated but TBH I don't struggle in that area with the 5D3. What I absolutely don't want is to feel like I took a step back from the 5D3 in terms of AF and high-iso performance.
Anyone have experience shooting fast things with both? Would love to hear how you got on....
Cheers,
Tim
