The police are paid to protect us; but the system is against even them..
Thankfully; the outcome was good, but could have been different.

Und even more staggering that they wasted money orosecuting this officer for arresting a violnet many when all yesterday's papers carried story that 75% of all real crime ist never caught und 99% of crimes never go to court (unless you are nice middle class person mit nice house und car)
I suppose prosecuting this office for daring to stop some thug killing a woman ist the 1% of so-called crime which comes to court.
By the way - what an indictment of the claim that a speed camera frees police to solve other crimes when their own figures reveal crime solving ist only 23& - an all time low!
Could this not have something to do mit criminalising the ordinary public over trivialities to make a fast buck und even prosecuting their own oficers for trying to save a life?

This is utterly insane. They haven't (yet) charged the blokes who assaulted the restrained black guy ; but they pick on this copper who as far as I can see is just doing his job.
I feel in this situation sometimes. Stop it and be done for assault. Don't stop it and you'll be done for negligence. Farcking ridiculous !

Political statement so that CPS can say that they are not a Police state and independant.
Not the first time a case has been taken to Court against Police with not a cat in hells chance of a conviction but to show Joe Public that Police are not exempt from things.

the officer is an easy target isn't he. can't hide or be anonymous since he was the arresting officer. lots to loose, so instead of a commendation for doing a good job he gets grief.
one consolation i suppose is the gun bunny should enjoy his long stay in Colchester (one presumes that is where the military correctional facility is) i hear they are not quite so nice there.

But what's really bizarre is that this guy has been hammered and their are so many cases which are much much worse where basically nothing has been done.
This is standard bully-management tactics ; don't be rational, just now and then make a big example of some poor minion.
This country is going to the dogs. Why do we employ people to do a task on our behalf and then give them hell when they carry it out? The sandalista are not adopting that strategy. They are allowing police pay to fall behind and pissing them about with civil service crap.
Lets face it nobody joins the police force to tick and stamp forms thats for clerks.
Getting rid of traffic cops means manic driving is on the increase. (While speed is perfectly safe and speed limits are stupid, driving furiously is a killer, thats how even good racing drivers die).
Forcing PC crap on us and failing to recognise that the police and the army cannot and will never fall in line with this particular dogma is a definate chink in their armour.
Time to rid the world of the disease that is sandalism.
