Think the V8V I'm buying is pretty much poverty spec, no heated seats or premium sounds, no wind deflector, cruise or auto dimming rear view mirror. Why did I buy it? Because it was at a price where I could begin my Aston ownership now instead of waiting two years, test the waters if you like. All going well I'll upgrade it to a newer, higher spec model in the next couple of years. The important thing is it appears in great condition, full dealer service history and looks beautiful smile So I'm well excited. However seeing if I can improve the spec. So first up......

How easy is it to retro-fit the auto dimming rear view mirror? I've read just buy the mirror and the plugs are there. But then read somewhere else you need to make sure it was on option for your car at the time. How would I know that?

Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance....

Firstly, welcome.
Exciting times eh? The excitement continues for years. They are special cars.

My advice is do not worry about the absent options. As you say, you have found a very good car.

I have heated seats - never use them.
I don't have Cruise - probably not much use on crowded roads anyway.
I have auto dip mirror - sometimes in daylight with xenons following, I wish I had manual dipping.

Upgrading can be expensive, so perhaps just enjoy your Aston.

Please post photos after you take delivery.

There is a multiplug in the cabin light housing. If you find one, it just plugs in.

Save your money and stick with the manual dip mirrior. I don't think the auto dip is worth this.
