Buying Amazon Reviews
Discussion
Anyone here buy amazon reviews or know of some who do?
I have quite a large competitor who by some miracle manages to get 10 reviews within a week of launching a product. Seems to baffle me how they do this considering it takes me over 6 months to establish a product.
They must be doing something iffy because on some of their product reviews people have said tonnes of fake reviews from same people!!!
its very annoying when you work so hard and you get people cheating the system so I guess there are two angles regarding my post. Firstly what would you do if you knew/thought this was happening and secondly is there a "legit" way to have your products reviewed more frequently.
From what I have gathered its like playing with fire to buy reviews or even presuade people to leave 4/5 star reviews.

give out samples of the product and ask people to leave reviews on xyz websites...
as others have said, you can review a product without having bought it through Amazon - why not, you may still own it...
10 reviews in a week doesn't sound particularly dodgy - depending on whether they are selling 1 item a week or 1,000
to have hundreds of reviews might be a bit weird...
also it is easy enough to tell what are good / bad reviews, and most shoppers who read the reviews will soon return a product if not up to quality...

It's very hard to get reviews on none mainstream items but we always take the opportunity that if a customer calls with a query to ask them to leave a product review. We got our own brand headset to number 2 in headsets within 4 months using every amazon legal trick in the book. FBA essential for that though.

Can you not send the product to 10 people FoC BEFORE officially launching it so they can immediately review it upon launch?
If it's not bought on amazon and it's new the review won't showI reviewed a TV on there the other day - new model / I bought it from John Lewis / first reviewer / no issues...
