No, well actually it isn't. Of course plod should look seriously at bribes, but this is just moronic.

I presume a cop accepting a bribe to look the other way would be dismissed and prosecuted. Must be bloody good tea.

This interested me, not because of the tea, but I think I know the service station concerned. I think it's the same one that I once called at around 3 am one morning. The place was FULL of policemen, from all around the area. I'll leave the remarks to you, I know what my thoughts were.

i seem to recall there was an idea to get the police to take rest breaks out in the field (could have been an east Anglian thing) rather than the canteen, something about getting more positive contact with the public. seems like the policy was a success then.

more tax money being spent on things that help no-one.

That will be the reason behind it.

I'm often told of stories of how policemen would go to Asda or the like and get a free cup of tea/coffee in the night shift simply as the employee's felt comfortable knowing a policeman would be popping in at some point over the evening. Nothing wrong with it at all except the michael is taken.

I seem to remember that Northumbria Police have now put a ban in place as well...
