Whats growing in my boot?

I've got something growing in the boot of my car - any ideas what it is? Looks like something has been spilt and its growing in a crystal fashion

I did sniff it but it appeared to be odourless. Not sure I want to taste it, particularly if the 2nd post above is correct (asbestos)

Have you carried a battery in your boot?
Have you spilt any liquids in there recently?

Bodily fluids... Common when you've kept a body in there too long post mortem, next time use a thick plastic sheet.

I'd suggest new carpets before forensics get their hands on those.

Chrysotile serpentine (aka Asbestos) doesn't grow - you mine it.

Only spilt milk (smell was dreadful!); also seen a mushroom growing on the carpet.
