Info thread/link?

Is there a thread or link I can find information about the strengths and more importantly the weaknesses of models in the £10-15K range.

I read about problems with engines and chassis etc. but they are always spoken of by those who already know about them so only in passing.

I need to do my research and if someone could point me in the right direction to the basics (not models, I have read about those)it is what to watch for, pitfalls and plus points, that would be a good starter.
