Incorrect body type on V5
Discussion
I realise this has been covered before but I have a specific question, which some on here may be able to advise on.
My Japanese imported 350Z Roadster which was imported in 2005 has Coupe as body type on the V5.
All the original export document pictures show the car as a Roadster and the Nissan chassis type designation is correct for a Roadster HZ33 whereas the Coupe is Z33 but the Japanese certificate of deregistration has the configuration as sedan.
This I guess is where the error occurred and the car was presumably registered at DVLA as a Coupe.
As the car was imported over 10 years ago, is this worth changing at DVLA?
How much hassle will DVLA be?
Will this need an engineers inspection etc. as I can provide the export documents and Nissan's chassis designation papers.
When I first insured the car it did come up with the insurance company as a coupe, but they just accepted that it was a grey import and insured it as a roadster.
Thanks for any advice on this.

Thanks guys.
It was my feeling that this is something I should do, but reading some forums dealing with something like this with DVLA can be a nightmare and I am concerned I maybe opening up a can of worms and have to go through some form of reregistration or engineers inspection, at I am sure much cost to me!

Would not worry about DVLA being a pain in the a**e or would not advise them?
Wouldn't bother telling them. What difference will it make leaving it as it is?That is what I am not sure about if you are stopped by the BiB?
Difficult to say you did not know the body type registered with DVLA was incorrect when it's on the V5 and searching on here it seems they can be funny even with something like a Land Rover with a detachable hard top which is just stupid!
