Iim going to look a t a griff that has had a small engine bay fire tomorrow and the guy thinks that the following will need replacing part wiring loom , fuel pipes and pressure regulator.

What sort of money do you think it will cost of these parts and am I mad to even think of buying at cat c tvr?

Cat C for those few items seems odd to me.
The engine bay wiring loom can be replaced because its one of the things anyone using MS upgrade.
I'd be sceptical TBH

Any rubber or plastic parts and electrical components/sensors potentially will need replacing

Water pipes
Dizzy cap
HT leads
Alternator
Air intake
AFM
coil
coil amp
injectors
vacuum hose
stepper motor
throttle pot

Electrical connectors and wires (starter motor, fan control.

You'll need to check the state of the fibreglass all around the engine bay including the bonnet

I would want to know the cause of the fire - fuel pipe splitting, electrical fire, and ensure that issue was also rectified. I'd also want to know why it was a Cat C write-off if the damage was as little as is implied. What was the the state of the car before the fire? Did it need other work? How was the fire put out - foam makes an awful mess.

If you get it at the right price then it could be worth it, as a Cat C it will always have less value than other Griffs.

I will see tomorrow , I fancy a project and the fire according to the guy was out in a minute or so, let's face it if the interior was slightly smoky that would right the car off on its own if it needed replacing.

I think the fire was caused by a split fuel pipe after a session on a rolling road.
