I'm trying to refit my relays and fuses to the bulkhead under the dashboard of my 400SE. I thought it might be easier if I could remove the dashboard to get at the bulkhead. I know how to remove the central part of the dash with the instruments and heater controls in it, but I can't find how the dash itself is fixed to the car. Does anyone know how to remove the dash from a 400SE? TIA

I would leave the dash in if you can it's quite a lot of work to take it out

All i know is there are 4 bolts..8mm i think that vary in position but will cause loss of skin and blood letting...The dash in my 350i kept slipping forward so i curled up under there..Managed to see the 8mm bugger and even touch it without injury..But that soon changed when i got a spanner on it..Or if you have one a mini snap-on ratchet with all the sockets from 4mm-12mm..Something i still regret giving away to a friend for his motorcycle..silly
Some may say don't bother as its not worth the pain and blood letting...I disagree..There is nothing more satisfying than having a dash that don't drop towards you every time you hit a bump in the road..Although i still need to tackle the bulb replacement in my speedo....Good luck with it and if you can please take pics as you go so it helps others later....Cheers...Ziga
