Hi,

I read in the recent UK car magazines that GM is opening Cadillac/Corvette Centres across Europe, and that they just opened one in London. According to the magazine, London was number 5, and they want to open at least 15 of these centres in Europe. Has anyone seen a web link for these centres? I am hoping that Munich, Germany, will be on the list.

Thanks,

Ken

A major launch campaign is getting underway for Chevrolet with full page "bow tie" newspaper ad's etc leading up to the official launch on 1 February. Apparently the dealers are all getting kitted out with Chevy jackets and other promotional stuff as well.

Not a word about Cadillac yet. Guess it makes sense to space them apart.

I walked in to Park Lane showroom yesterday. Corvette demo car is expected in mid March as are prices for cars. Had several Cadillacs on show, new XLR (or whatever its meant to be called) looks good. Came away with cats for this anf new Vette.

The future is bright. In Road and Track this monthy, there are details of the STS-V using a supercharged Northstar engine, a Cadillac XLR-V using the same engine and of course the CTS-V which may get a 500bhp engine but only for club racer use to capitalise on cadillac's considerable success in the touring car series in America. Plus the Z06 is coming although the C6, Z06 and CTS-V won't see rhd.

There is also Chevy's version of the PT cruiser which may make it to the UK. It is unlikely that they will evr cross a Daewoo's path as they are dedicated Cadillac and Corvette dealerships - there is no such thing as a Chevy C6, it's just a Corvette.

One assumes that Vauxhall Monaro dealers will be able to service the C6 since the new Monaro will use the LS2 engine.

Someone left a copy of the Daily Star in the company kitchen yesterday. There was a Chevrolet teaser advert in there. Oh dear !
