Gin recommendation?

I want to buy a "nice" bottle of gin for someone as a thankyou.

It will be drunk with tonic I think.

I guess most will taste the same with tonic in but is there one which a G&T drinker would think a bit "special"?

I'm a G&T fan and my favorite gin is Plymouth. Hendricks is very good too

Another vote for Chase their Apple Gin served with a slice of apple is a nice change but I pefer their Extra Dry, lovely stuff.

I like Gordon's.

Someone bought me a bottle of Raj gin (55%) and I bought myself some fever tree tonic. I did a taste test vs Gordon's and Schweppes and the latter won.

Botanist Gin from the island of Islay is regarded as a very nice gin.

If you want something different
No.3 is the London Dry Gin distilled to a proprietary recipe of Berry Bros. & Rudd. With juniper at its heart, it unashamedly celebrates the integrity and character of traditional London Dry Gin.

Waitress sometimes stock it, about £36 a bottle, best drunk with a slice of cucomber

Or my fave at the moment, and my local gin - Warner Edwards. Not widely available in the shops, but they ship from their website

Get some good tonic as well. Fever Tree will work well.

That one's an old one but has a lot of suggestions. And there are literally hundreds of other threads and suggestions to suit all tastes (search function looks to have been refined to make it easier to find specific things too). If you tried a bottle of each recommendation you'd be Oli Reed in a month

Another vote here for Tanqueray, or for an even smoother gin you can't get much better than Caorunn.
