New MG or new Teeth @ my age ?

Tough call for me but the new teeth get the vote.

My MG6 engine into an MG ZT project and the other cars will all go on the back burner for about a week or so now. Got to take things easy for a few days. I have just returned from my Dentist following extraction of all my upper teeth. Phew! I've also had anchor post inserts ready for semi-permanent Bridge Work with nice new upper choppers. I feel like a Bus has collided with my face now the drugs are wearing off and feeling is returning... Not as bad as I thought but still bad. I was in the dentist's chair for ninety minutes. So, taking things easy aint so bad. Must not stress those numerous stitches and soups and other soft foods for a day or so whilst the gums heal.

I paid the half deposit for the dental work today. When it's all finished and paid for, it will cost more than a new MG on the road ... So, nice smile and ability to eat a crisp apple or new MG ? ... The new set of choppers won in the end after a long time making the decision.

My original teeth were in a poor state after years of smoking ( I gave up thirty five years ago ) and wear and tear. Poor fillings back in the day didn't help either as a few have simply snapped off in the past couple of years. They had more filling than teeth but, did last forty years.

Same old story ... nothing lasts forever. Moral, look after your choppers ...

Definitely the teeth! Good work! Make sure you have regular hygiene appointments and keep them super clean at home because implants are not infallible either. They will be a great investment to keep you well fed and socially happy into your old age.
The end result will be so worth it

Thanks for the reassuring reply. Socially happy ~ yes, that was part of my decision process. No longer afraid to smile... looked like the smile of a neglected backwoods yocal. Glad they're all out now. Those eye teeth ( canines ) are massive! ... I'll just have to creep about in my old MGs and Rovers in the meantime. The new car can wait ...

Those were my reasonings. I was impressed with the advice given before I decided to go ahead such as regular hygiene checks etc. I've now got two weeks of eating soft foods until my gums fully heal when the stitches can be removed. The whole process taking three-four months but I feel it will be worth all the aggravation and expense.
