The wife wants a Smart fortwo convertible so i said i'll look into it so i've started looking at the brabus version, as despite it still being a smart car, with the bigger wheelarches, tyres and the little twin exhaust it doesn't actually look too bad.

I was just after some user reviews/advice really if anyone here as/had one, what to look out for, if there's any particular things/years/build etc to look out for when buying one.

I think i prefer them in white, but will need to go look at some real ones before making up our minds.

Thanks for your reply.

How did you find the gearbox, is it really that bad as stated in most reviews ?

I've seen there are a few smart clubs/forums around, any particular one you could recommend ? I need to read up on these 451 and 450 model numbers as they don't mean anything to me yet.

Gear change is something u get used to , it's much faster & smoother using the flappy paddles than full auto . We do regular Brighton runs and she is capable of cruising at many Leptons per hour wink Websites - #1 Evilution , Cain has forgotten more than most know about smarts , well worth the very small subscription fee for the depth of knowledge available ! also the Smartz and Smart Maniacs forums are useful and fun (though they can be a bit clicky ) Have fun finding the right car !
