Hi guys!

I currently have Michelin Pilot Sports on my GT3 and was wondering how these tyres behave on track? Is it recommended to change? I will be going to Spa at the end of April and want suitable tyres but since the car is almost new the tyres are hardly worn yet, so perhaps its better to wear them out and than change?
Thanks!

First trackday with the car?
First trackday ever?

If you don't know the track too well and don't know the car too well, then i think the tyres you have will be a good compromise. They'll grip well but not like Cup tyres, they'll be less sensitive to wet/cold, and when they let go they should be nice and progressive.

Getting cup tyres means you're going that much faster when they do let go, know what i mean?

I don't like them. I have used them on track in hot dry weather and there's simply not enough grip. Mind you, I was on track at the same time as a group of Caterhams and single-seater racers, so I had a devil of a job to save face.

I am considering a switch to Pzero Rossos as the last time I switched from Pilot Sports to Rossos (in a 996 C2), the increase in dry grip was noticeable, with no adverse effect on progression of break-away.

Personally not keen on track tyres as that bumps me into a different category for autocross, otherwise I'd probably give the Corsas a go (MPSCs don't last more than a couple of track days, and I think Corsas have more tread, so that would swing it for me).

Thanks for your replies!
I´ve done quite abit of track-driving but never with the GT3. Doesn´t the Pilots oveheat in a short time and loose grip? Probably try them at the beginning of the season and tha chnage if I feel the need.
