I want to be able to download maybe 1500 MP3's on to it, then take it to my workshop, plug it into my amplifier, then set it to play the lot in random order. I don't want it to play any of the songs twice until it has played all of them once.
I won't be able to get through all 1500 even in one of my working days, so I will wan't to be able to leave it overnight and carry on the next day.
I had a Creative DAP Jukebox that would do this fairly reliably, but it died when I left it plugged in during a thunderstorm.
Any suggestions?

Try:

iPod Mini?
iRiver
Sony MP3 Walkman

Quite a few about now! And I have heard that Dell will be launching one fairly soon. (Should be very cheap as well)

That does seem like excellent value. I like the way it can record to mp4 on the fly. Just leave a dvd playing overnight and in the morning it is ready to watch on the way to work.

Wonder what the battery life is like?
