This is my first non white goods car (still got a ford focus for that). Bought it cheap as a fun way to commute with a few days MOT. Obviously it wasn't so cheap after a new rear axle and cat for the MOT! (As well as a new gear link control return thingy because the ball fell out of this one on the way home!).
On the plus side the last owner was having to unplug the battery every night because it was draining. I found some dodgy looking wires in the boot whilst my mate was helping me refit the rear seatbelts, taped them up and touch wood its started every time and been plugged in for over a week...
It has half leather interior, oz wheels and a powerflow exhaust, and to me seems very fast! Needs a bit of gluing back together on the bodywork but that's what summers for!
I hope the pictures work OK, I'm posting this on hospital WiFi, my 3 year old has broken her leg on the trampoline (Aunty fell on her!
). Shes in a hip spica cast for the next 4-6 weeks so the cars going to have to take a back seat for now.
they're all missing out though

but cat C and has already had at least 1 bit of welding .I'm just going to reattach any loose bits of trim, patch the hole in the drivers seat bolster add a small spoiler and fluffy dice and dice dust caps for the period look
and rag it till something breaks that'll cost more than the car at which point I will sell the valuable parts then weigh it in. (to be fair this point came already within a week of ownership but I decided to throw money at it since I hadn't enjoyed it yet).Got 2 years warranty on the axle (www.imaxle.co.uk) so at least that should be ok...
Was a bit annoyed yesterday when the rev counter stopped working, but thankfully was just the fuse in the engine bay! 
was not up for checking behind the dials as I imagine i'd manage to activate the airbag warning light that way.
Did my first commute in it yesterday and loved it, definitely a lot better than squeezing onto the train!

I've done some more journeys now and still loving it!
The fuse that blew kept blowing when I hit a bump, steep hill or sharp turn which was messing up the idle when it went mid journey (this was only since fitting the new gear linkage). Luckily I'm fairly certain I have found the culprit; a loose wire with a connector in the middle that could swing and just about touch the gear linkage.
Cable ties to the rescue and a couple of commutes later and it hasnt gone again... *touches wood*
I am looking forward to having some free time over the summer to actually tidy this thing up, as for something that was once so hated it seems to get a lot of positive attention when i'm driving around!

The intermittent fuse problem I was having turned out to be where the inside of the wheel arch had chewed through the loom sheathing... and started on the loom; pretty glad I found and sorted that before it caught fire! It had already melted a couple of wires together (luckily I'm handy with a soldering iron) no more fuses popped for well over a month now

Overall I'm pretty happy even if this car wants to throw little challenges at me since it's a learning experience

I only recently got rid of my VTR. Very fun little cars to hoon about in, handle very well too. Mine did have it's niggles though, the placement for one of the coolant hoses meant because mine was lowered, I split the pipe and lost all my coolant....Power steering pump needing hitting with hammer to get it to work and horn was intermittent. Silly electrics but had a lot of character, something hard to find in new cars I think
