well after stripping the manifold off yesterday I noticed
That the engine has had new heads fitted ? Also these are not the 10 bolt heads !!
They are 14 can anyone answer why ??

Yours is a pre cat isnt it. If i am right it will have 14 bolt heads.

It is standard practice to not fit the other 4 bolts, or at least not torque them beyond a token amount. They are thought to do more harm than good if torqued to original spec.

Thing is their are no holes in the block for them !!

Sounds like you have a later bottom end / block and maybe original heads.

Heads look quite new ! Very clean looking bright not old looking the car has done 138000 miles engine numbers the same as log book so quite a mistry ?

Dont worry too much- the last 4 bolts used on the pre serp engine caused the head to sit unevenly, so where removed. Even if you have 14 bolts, the offending 4 should only be torqued down lightly- basically just to fill the holes in, and everything will be fine.

Hi, not worrying just trying to work out why their are 4 bolts missing and no threaded holes in the block for them ??

They weren't drilled in later rv8 blocks. TVR had a habit of using up old stock...

This ^^^^. Or prior to you geting the car it has had a new later engine and log book amended accordingly.

Approx late 94 for 10 bolt was the changeover IIRC but you know what TVR are like rolleyes as said already having four blank holes only changes the cosmetic appearance but does increase HG reliability not having those four bolts fitted

Mines a 92 so all looking good then for me to fit the turbo kit ;-) as the plugs are now out I will carry out a compression test what figures will I be looking for ?
