Can you 'request' a courtesy car
Discussion
Just received a letter from Mercedes saying my 2015 E250 coupe has been re-called due to a timing chain tensioner problem.
I regularly carry quite a bit of gear round in my car and the reason for buying the E coupe was that it was big enough with the seats folded down.
Can I ask when it goes in for another E class with folding seats or bigger car (estate, ML etc)?
I know it sounds cheeky but I dont want to be struggling for X amount of days if they give me a C or even A class.
Cheers

I can't help you on your question as it will be dealer specific and you'll only know by asking.
As you probably know, your E class coupe is based on a C class so is quite a bit smaller than an E class saloon or estate before even factoring in the fact that it's a 2 door.
You'll get by just fine with a C class saloon and a C class estate will carry a lot more than your e class coupe does.

Thanks for the response. I am going to pop down with the car this afternoon so will let you know how I get on.
C class saloon will be too small unfortunately, I tried one before the E class and the lack of folding rear seats wrote it off straight away, unless they have one with the premium pack as I know the folding seats are standard with that.
Thanks again

You'll be lucky to get a courtesy car with merc at all!
Mine was in for the same re-call and no courtesy car was offered. I do live just round the corner from the dealership and work over the road though so i never pushed the matter.
It was in for a service last week and they wanted an extra £60 for a courtesy car as well (on top of the already extortionate £280 for an oil and filter change). I got the same service done when i had a BMW for £130 and they gave me a brand new X6 4.0 with 47 miles on the clock.
