Big Withdrawal Symptoms ...

3000 miles and 8 days around Verdon Gorge, Cevennes, the Pyrenees and a days wine tour in Burgundy. It's never long enough, can't wait till next year. Nice to have a little bit of Italian with us this year and the smaller numbers (6 of us) worked really really well. Amazing holiday, great food and wine, incredible roads and drives, memorable scenery and it's just so liberating to laugh your arse off for 8 days on the trot with a great bunch of guys.

Oh, and not one single speeding fine this time

not noisy enough if anything ...

but the heat/no AC was a different story, i coped well (just shorts on, all windows open etc.) but some days when it was touching 40 degrees it was pretty testing if the car ever slowed to a stop

Coolio, I just can't believe its a year since your last outing.

What I really love about these trips is not just the driving, leaving the hassles of work behind, but the friendship, the scenery, the laughs, the beers and the food!

The R&R as well as the driving is just sooooo part of it. Glad you had a great trip

Thanks mate. We enjoyed the wine tour so much that next year we are going to do a couple of one day on, one day offs .... so a days hard driving then stay in the same place a second night and have the next day for exploring the city, swimming, or some other cultural stuff.

We also shortened the routes on some of this years days and picked our moments, quality not quantity. I'd say overall this year was one of the best trips so far. Back to form because last year there was something a bit flat about trip. I think the trick is to keep evolving it.

Looks like a fantastic trip. Interesting to note your badging decision, I think if any car has earned it, yours has.

From the photos, trip looks a bit less 'staggy' and more civilised than last year.

The little 993 is by far the most interesting, and, for me, desirable car in the group.

Its ace mate ... cage has completely transformed it. Carries tons of speed through, more precise and benign ... just a total pleasure to drive and it's extra nimbleness really came into play on many of the roads we were on.

pretty nice but strangely the Blagny Meursault was my fave from that lot ... got a few cases of that and the Corton coming
