Petrol station chuckle
Discussion
I was filling up at the weekend at a busy station when the manager came over the tannoy and said "You cannot fill fuel straight in to the boot, please remove the container to fill it up"
My reply was "Remove what?! The petrol tank?"
He got irritated and repeated the request, by now everyone is looking at me whilst I tell him the filler is in the boot. I am not sure who was more embarrassed at the time him or me but it made me laugh.
Anyone else been warned for dangerous behavior?

Spot on! Now, time for some HooveringIve never had the tannoy treatment but, on my first fill up I didn't realise it was such a slow filler. I put the nozzle in and fired it full blast and stood proud looking at the other customers in the garage looking at my new P&J. They were watching me cover the forecourt in petrol as more was coming out than going in !

Not had the boot warning but I do find certain brands of fuel due to their pump design spews out fuel on filling which is annoying, normally on your fresh paint work & trousers and takes an age to trickle in, however, I never get this with Shell, so it makes optimax more palletable. Strange they all seem to use different dispensers !

You must live in a posh area for your petrol attendant to speak English!
Havn't had that one yet - but I did fail my MoT on number plate lamps 'not fitted'... does that count?
Had this one too , though didn't fail, more was more of a 'OK, I give up, how do you illuminate the rear plate?'

Off topic a bit, but as above. Had an MOT failed on the number plate lights not showing through the plate enough.
"NO sir I can't see the lights through the number plate".
It's worth more than my job sir to let your car pass ...... etc...etc...!
S***T. what now I thought. Long story cut short. I had a number plate light holder. (you know the big square black block fitted into rear bumpers)
So I attached this via the existing spade connectors and taped this to the outside just above the number plate on the outside. Closed the boot carefully!
Passed the MOT
So I drove off and removed said item

. Keep this for next year you never know

Had that a few times. On one occasion the attendant sneeked out of their kiosk and peered round the boot to try and catch me in the act, only to rather sheepishly scamper off again and activate the pump!
I also enjoy it when friends give you the look of how the hell do I open the door to get in to the car and then the same look when trying to exit!
For me these are all the little thinks that make owning TVR's that little bit more special and confirms they are not the same as all the rest.

Not experienced this yet when filling up..
But it took at least five times before my friend stopped asking how to get in. At least five times before asking how to get out but not before opening my door 1st,and his last mystified question was how to put the window up.
If he was to borrow my car and needed fuel I'd love to be a fly on the wall and see how he tries to figure out the boot release button and actually figure out where it's located.

I have the lockable push buttons in the rear quarter and love it when you get a 'Know it all' spotter,
"Do you know how to open the door?" is the question to the young lad with him and receives an unknowing shake of the head,
"You press this button under here, s
t, where is the button? its a TVR, they have buttons under the mirror!, It must have new mirrors fitted"
I take great delight in showing the ill-informed, the correct method of entry, invite him to sit in, and close the door, then watch as he tries to open the door with the ashtray, cigarette lighter, all the light switches and even thinking that pulling the door pocket may even open the door! I then explain how the knob in the middle opens the doors from the inside, and for a short time there was one sat in the car.
Only TVR, that's why I love 'em
