Ticket not in system

I was pulled over by Police and issued a speeding fine, I accepted my wrong doings and went to pay the fine in person 20 days later. Chap behind the desk said "no record of this in the system" and if I wanted he could process it now or I could come back and check at a later date, as I wanted it out of the way I agreed for him to enter it into the system as I waited.

So my question, does it take more than 20 days for the police to enter the ticket into the system? Family ect have been nipping in my ear saying I should have waited to see if it ever got entered but that’s not really me.

Police Scotland ? No real surprise but you did the right thing. If you hadn't it would have gone to court as unaccepted, even if not on system.

Aye - Police Scotland tend to just write things down instead of putting it in their system.They then pass it to a civvy to enter into the computer - until the civvy forgets and two people die as a result of a road crash - 3 days after the police were notified but hadn't entered it into their antiquated system

Did you get to nominate a speed of your choice? I cannot imagine ever turning myself in just in case I had slipped through the net
