As above really - are there any online resources or books that show the list of things that you need to think about - running costs, maintenance, entry costs, how teams are run, the decisions that you need to make, that sort of thing?

Cheers.

Not as such , as it's so specialised and unique to what events etc you are looking at.
If you tell me what events you're thinking and what car, I can give you a pretty good idea

Only resource you'll need is bag loads of experience , starting from grass roots level . It's one helluva fun time learning though .

Entry fees you can get from the organizers, fixed costs you can work out transport, catering, insurance, spares. Then consumables tires, fuel, fluids.

But in terms of experience, work out how to get it quick and cheap. I learnt more from crewing (for free) with "pro" guys on 1 endurance event compared to what we did as an amateur team over several events. Also go local event most teams are friendly have ghat and get some advise.

Could do with a bit more detail really from the OP.

I spent part of last season helping run an ex WRC car on national rallies culminating in Rally GB in November.

It really is as complex and expensive or simple and cheap as you want to make it.

Ok, so the reasoning behind the question was not to enter into the industry (although it would be lovely!) is to have a bash at writing a rally management game.
