Mischevious little monkey has made off with one of our County's best loved Speed Camera.
"Stolen from its roadside site on the A605, at Thorpe Waterville near Oundle (near Peterborough) on Saturday night. -Police are following a number of leads...

Fantastic.

Should lead to a safer road, with drivers able to look where they are driving as opposed to staring at the speedo......

It was later reported by the Dazren International News Service:

"The children and pensioners of Peterborough thank these freedom fighters for their foresight and actions."

The camera was installed on the A605 between Thrapston and Oundle in February 2001, after 60 incidents involving death or injury occured on the seven mile stretch of road between January 1997 and December 1999. The camera dissapeared less than 24 hours after a road accident near the spot claimed the life of 47 year old Burton Latimer man Paul Venables. So, cameras don't work then. Road engineering and driver education would, but that doesn't raise revenue. The police spokesman went on to say 'Considering there was a fatal accident, this is a totally irresponsible act which could endanger the lives of others'. Again, showing that since the cameras have been installed the death rate is increasing. Let's nick all of them.

Gatso stolen? What a tragedy

Traffic cones are one thing, but imagine waking up with a Sunday morning hangover to find that on the bed.. "Not what I had in mind when I went out last night to find someone who'd f**k me..."

Bang on if it was!! The one at Harlestone has been smashed up and burnt a few times now. What we really need to do is burn the so called "Safety Camera Vans" preferably with Naomi Cooper (overpaid waste of space from Northants Police) in one of them.....

When I first moved to Northampton it was very laid back, now everyone drives around in a rage because of this lot. Once people have passed the relevant spots where the vans go, they drive like lunatics. It's made driving standards worse IMO.

Not me on this occasion mate but I was flashed-steady
at the Barrack road before last Christmas and thought long and hard about it, happily nothing came by post though.

Tell me about it! Not only this, but yesterday a Micra had a front wing ripped off about 50m away. Both incidents in Harlestone.

I'm surprise nobody’s carjacked one of those vans yet. Surely that could be a fun new pastime for the local Northants scrotes - not that I would condone such activity of cause

Exactly. The only people I know in Northants who haven't been caught yet are me (due to luck and laser jammers) and my mother (cause she never goes over 40mph). Everybody else is absolutely fuming and wonders what the hell they pay tax for in this county

In last nights Chron & Echo. A parking ticket is not legal unless the warden is in full uniform, including hat and epaulettes etc. Does this apply to the crash hat the moped riders wear? Would they have to carry the uniform hat around with them as well?

I shall have to pay more attention to their dress code in future, one or two of the obese ones often have a shirt pulled out, does that count.
