I'm getting messed up with some lovely people at the moment!
Son of a work-colleague had an accident last year. Only car involved - slid of road in to a tree. No doubt he was probably not driving within his limits and to the conditions.
He and his friends scarpered after the crash and he's now been charged with DWDCA, leaving scene of an accident and failure to report an accident.
In this case does an accident mean just one car?

Remember the case of the drug addict fined £83 und banned for two years after killing a bloke, running off after the accident. Car was also defective.
But your pal's son ist a nice boy und collided mit a tree. In the session before the chav girl's case - he was find almost £500 plus costs und banned for two years for ....

Thus, Liebchen... think your pal's son needs to find toppest lawyer!

Owing to the presence of a motor vehicle on a road/public place...
accident....
damage to any other vehicle/property.....
must STOP...
and give drivers details/vehicle owner/vehicle Reg to any person having reasonable grounds for requiring same...
If driver doesn't has to report it to Police as soon as reasonably practicable and in any case within 24 hours.
Injury to another brings in Production of Insurance Certificate.
