GT4 funds burning a hole in my pocket.....
Discussion
When did you pay your £5k, how many has cars has your OPC already been allocated to the end of this year and how far down the list are you of those still waiting?
If you paid way back at launch or before, and you are 1st or 2nd on the unallocated list then you have every chance of getting one in 2016. Otherwise unless your OPC is a really big one, then realistically you are holding out on a false hope. That said with todays interest rates you are hardly loosing much interest by letting them hang onto it for another 3-6mths just in case.
All that said, if you really do have money burning a hole in your pocket then I'm pretty sure there will be some of the first cars appearing on the 2nd hand market well above RRP in the next 4-6 weeks so you could just snap up one of those!

In fact here you go - its LHD and £88,000 but here is a free build slot with spec still to be confirmed!

I don't see any more coming, dealers know 2012 allocation and where you sit in the 2nd batch.
Just ask your OPC to be upfront with you can ask where you sit on their list , if it's over 8th buy some thing else imo.
IF it's under 6 you should get one, 6th to 8th tricky, buy a R8 V10 and have some fun and sell it on.

I think you will be very lucky to get a gt4 now i would buy something in the mean time that won't lose money and if you get lucky move it on ! Don't buy a 981 s/Gts you will loose too much money instead go Gt3 ,caymanR or 987 Spyder as safe bets!
You will loose a fair bit on a Cayman S but definitely not on the CGTS IMO. I believe only 211 CGTS registered, to date, in the UK with only a few more to come. A very popular choice for those who don't want a GT4, which includes me, as excellent a package it undoubtedly will be.I appreciate the GTS isn't a Porsche GT car which is why I prefer it.
If it's a GT type you want I'd go for the 997 GT3.

Not sure about that. The GTS will depreciate not much less than the S after its halo period ends.I appreciate the GTS isn't a Porsche GT car which is why I prefer it.

First of all, if you spec your S "lightly" it will be some way cheaper than the GTS. If you spec it highly and it enters the same price range as the GTS it will depreciate more, as people will want the GTS for the same money. Different badge, more power, bespoke interior/exterior and the "standard" kit is actually cheaper. Oh, and it has a different badge, which is important to Porsche people and will be more unique on the road. These things combined ensure that it will hold value better than a normal S.

its just bks... but I guess it must be absolute st - since Cmoose basically has deemed the Cayman R suspension " piss poor cheapo dampers" in another thread. Thats the same suspension.
Well I was 98% sure that was the case. (Well strictly speaking I'm pretty sure that the GTS has the same PASM suspension as standard which is optional on the S - and both can have the same X73 as an option. In addition the GTS has 20" wheels and lower profile tyres as standard - but they are an option on the S too.)But I was curious to know if he knew something different....
