I was number 4 on the original waiting list for GT4 at my OPC. Bad luck because they were only allocated 3 cars!

I've been told that I'll get the next car but I'm getting a little frustrated at the lack of news. Has anyone been given an update?

I was 5th on my OPC list and got lucky when they got an extra car (they are a big dealer) but they also say they no nothing of allocation for next year and think the face lifting of the cayman and boxster models will delay further production of the Gt4. This is only his view as Sales Manager of the OPC though

def more cars as the 1st batch was only 135 cars, just seems to be no split between 2015 cars and 2016 cars now.

some dealers have had more cars already which I guess is 2016 allocation. be that 85 more cars for the org 200 cars total or what ever it's hard to find out.

Hope this is the case. I didn't even consider I wouldn't get one until 10 minutes ago!

Production stops March 2016. Tool up for revised Cayman. Initial allocation has already increased with additional slots recently released. No doubt a few more will get squeezed out before production stops. Hang in there and keep on the dealers case

that's hear say. I see no news about increased Initial allocation. as can been see by people still waiting for cars.

only people I have seen getting a car now who did not get a so called 1st batch car was people not in the 135 1st full allocation.

The slots released are cars after the 1st 135 !

It's not slots being released, it's the slots the dealers already had for 2016 brought forward into one batch with no further cars to be added. So the originally 200ish limit is exactly the same, it's just the dealers now know how many cars they are getting in total. Porsche will probably still fit in a few more cars depending on who demands one. GT3s are still being built because a certain customer demanded one so they did an extra few cars, my OPC is just about to get another new one delivered in July.

I am not really sure why people keep talking about these cars in 'batches'. As though Porsch will turn on production for 3 months to the UK then switch off again.
It will be exactly like it was for the GT3 a steady slew of cars for a year or so. I don't care what anyone says on here no one knows build numbers yet Porsche are very careful at putting a number on cars like they have with ltd editions etc.
I was in Zuffenhausen only 2 months or so ago and saw 2 991 GT3's come off the production line.
Bear in mind these cars are NOT built at Zuffenhausen they are built at the mahoosive plant at Osnabruck (VW).
So that can handle a lot more cars than the 200 maximum units a day at Zuffenhausen.
Also personally I don't think that the facelift Cayman/Boxster will have any bearing on the GT4 they are different cars. Remember the 997 and 997S came out when 996 4S and turbos were still in production.
Look forward to seeing them on our roads though closest I got was through a fence at Zuffenhausen along with a prototype I'll try and put picture up later.

And the facelift 991 is supposed to be here later this year as a 2016 model.

I can only tell you what I know from my dealer here in the UK. They are a mid size porsche dealership and have now allocated 7 cars over both years of which 5 have so far been delivered. No news of additional cars and with the VW drama and share price hit I think it makes for interesting decisions in Porsche HQ. Good luck!

Bit late replying to this one, the OP managed to get a build slot.

Still, leads to an interesting conversation on what may or may not happen, any more cars etc. I'm certainly told of another small batch, but others aren't so sure.

Looks like updated Cayman not far away. So any additional GT4's will be squeezed in before production switches to new model.

GTS will be first then GT4 probably 2 years away as probably won't have been factored into initial delivery programme. Success of GT4 of course means another version will follow but will it be non turbo? They probably hadn't planned for a non turbo engine in update but anything is possible subject to cost
