This very cute platformer is out today and has received largely decent reviews (apart from Gamespot, but they seem to have an irrational marking down of Nintendo. Strangely, the video review itself is generally positive in tone, but it is given a 6/10).

Anyway, has anyone got it already or are getting it?

I received mine yesterday and I have a graphical issue with the game that I wasnt to cross-reference with others that may have or are getting the game, to see if it's a general problem or if my copy is dodgy. Basically around every 5 seconds of gameplay the game freezes momentarily then resumes, it's only very briefly but enough to break the flow of the game and become very annoying.

Can anyone who has/is getting the game verify this problem please? Other than that, played a couple of levels and it is very smile inducing, solid platforming and Yoshi is adorable!

Didn’t think YWW would get a signal post on here. I have it, and love it. I first played the Yoshi world games on the DS and this indeed does it justice. Looks fantastic, and it’s great fun to play. Currently have a Link-cosumed Yoshi biggrin

As for your graphical issue; no. Mine plays perfectly. No stutters at all. Perhaps something wrong with the disc?

Ah ha! A fellow human indulging their inner child/platform monkey.

I have found the issue by the way - If you are playing using the Pro controller and have switched the screen off on the gamepad, it stutters. However leaving the gamepad on and playing with the Pro is fine.

I'm enjoying it a lot. It's nothing revoltionary, it's not going to shake up the platforming game world, it's just a solid platformer that has enough about it to keep you amused. It's easy, but there is a decent challenge in trying to collect all the wool and flowers from each level, some being very obscure to find. It's a very charming game that makes you smile - definitely a game to play to put you in a good mood.

Ha, not at all. Think it’s a game (and console) to play proudly; sometimes a simple, pretty, fun, vastly enjoyable game is what’s needed. I think the look of Yoshi and the yarn world is fantastic. The sounds are great. The mechanics superb, even if it immediately reminds me of Little Big Planet. I grew up playing Nintendo platforms, and continue to enjoy them – they’re just not massively popular on here. wink

And, ah. Good. I’ve only played on the ‘pad, but sounds like something they need to patch shortly. You tried Captain Toad, too? Equally as good, just 3D.

Ive been trying to decide wether or not to buy myself a WIIU since they came out, this game may convince me to buy one.

Are they worth it?

I and my partner have played more Mario Kart 8 since I got it in August last year, than I've played any other game, on any other console since then.

If you like Nintendo games (forget it if you're a COD/Fifa junky) you will love the WiiU. Some super games available.

I managed to get a discounted WiiU from John Lewis. I've not played it that much but when I have, I really liked the way it is so different than other consoles. A very positive experience.

How does this game compare to Mario world which I really enjoyed (as far through as I got..).

Cheers

I wanted a Wii U but child (21) wanted a PS4. Even though it was my money I was persuaded to buy the PS4. He's moving out next month and taking the PS4 with him. I will be buying a Wii U. Any chance of A Wii U Pilotwings I wonder...
