My Father's recently acquired S has quite a corroded chassis tube that runs down the side of the car (around the sill area). Anyone know any good places to get this done? He lives in Northamptonshire but can travel if needed.

Cheers

That's the outrigger. A common place for corroison and also a MOT failure. Body off time unfortunately, so it'll be expensive. You could try somewhere like Tower View Racing or Austec.

Hate to ask the 'bleeding obvious' but why acquire an S with corroded chassis without knowing whatwhere or how much it would cost to get fixed in the first place?

Outriggers need not be a 'body-off' job, the body can be lifted a few inches.... I had a seat belt stay welded in this way and it wasn't too pricey.

How many times do we have to be warned, Chassis, Chassis, Chassis. Unless he knew about it and got it for the right price.

Moore Racing in Milton Keynes. Welding Gods.

The body is off mine at the mo and they did a fantastic welding job. Even picked up the car from Reading and delivered it back all nice and shiny..!!

Just removing the last bits before it gets sent off to be shotblasted and powdercoated.

By the way if its not too bad then Moore Racing can replace outriggers without totally removing the body.
