Hi,
Looking for a car on here (like many sites) can be tiresome having to trawl through every ad & look at the details to see if it meets my criteria,
many ppl fail to list more than basic details (which isnt PH fault) but if there was more filters in the search filters such as bluetooth, nav etc
as these are common requirements for most ppl in this day & age.

It would be even better if PH changes the way ppl list items but forcing the requirement to list detail in the ad simply by having dropdowns when
listing the ad regarding previous owners, fsh, bluetooth, nav etc.

Finally hiding my bookmarked/watched items away is a pain, after logging in i have to trawl through several click/pages to get to my bookmarks,
with no obvious way to make my bookmarks my default place in the very limited options.

Thank you for the feedback, very useful.

We will look into all these points, especially the bookmarks.

As part of selling a car we do have drop downs for most of the data on a car (or free text for the spec data e.g. bhp, top speed etc). But we do not have the options fitted to the car as a selectable drop down, so at the moment we rely on our free text search (under Keywords) to provide that search.

We are however looking at an improvement to this at the moment, but will take a while to put in place - so we hope to have a better search experience and data over the coming 6 months.

In addition, trying to find your own forum posts / replies is so bad, took me ages trawling through my account dropdowns,
then in the forum itself, even then i couldn't go to one of my replies as it only takes me to the topic i replied to, so i
have to trawl through 80+ pages on that topic to find my reply frown

Basic forum features seem to be either missing or implemented in a totally unorthodox manner, everything is awkward & cumbersome
compared to most forum platforms of the past 2 decades, which is a shame really for a site of this size & popularity frown

Have you tried using the new search facility to find the posts you are looking for? It allows filtering by user, date & forum as well as search by keywords.

Strong input.

Yours,

Someone that experiences none of these issues and finds PH very easy.

Just an update for you.
I stopped using your site when you updated it a couple of years ago.
I sometimes give-in and attempt to navigate past all the annoying pop ups and video ads that start playing randomly when viewing your write ups etc.

Just wanted to say i still hate the changes and hate the website.

Shame, as i used to love everything about Pistonheads and used it to buy/sell cars and parts and attend the meets etc.
I know the members are the same guys but the way it is presented etc is so off putting i cant use it.
It wouldnt be so bad if it wasnt so good before lol.

Awful!

cheers Jamie

The ads you describe aren't allowed on here and the Techies do try to stop them, but when there are lots of ads on the site I doubt it's easy to find the rouge ads. The homepage is better now than I first joined imo. The articles are clearer and the site is better to navigate.

Thank you for coming back to let us know the issues you have - just for clarification, is it mainly the display advertisement around the site that causes you the issue, or the design of the pages (ignoring the adverts)?
