Just re- veneered the lower dash, the car has the original factory fitted pioneer CD / Radio (2001-- 450 chim ) attached to the aerial cable is a red wire with a spade connector fitted, this was not connected to anything it was just laid behind the radio. Does anyone know what this cable was for? or where it should be connected

As the Pioneer unit wasn't just made for TVR, I suspect it was to trigger an electric aerial to perform its magic when the radio was turned on.

That will need connecting to either the head units electric aerial output or an ignition fed 12 volts to boost the aerial.
