Boo hoo. I've put some scrathes in the beast when putting my roof on in a hurry. Does anyone know a good place that can repair this without it costing the earth ?

The car is reflex purple and I've been told it's £800 / ltr - gulp.

I'll be hit with that cascade purple paint price too when my custom bonnet needs spraying!

There must be a cheaper alternative that looks exactly the same than using TVR's own mixture????

There may be matches from companies like PPG, DuPont, Standox and maybe even House of Kolor.

I don't know which of those (if any) TVR use already (although House of Kolor is very unlikely!!)

Have u guys ever tried T-Cut.

It works as a polish and breaks down the paint to cover over the scratch, then polishes off!

I have covered 2mm scratches back to unnoticeable using this stuff for the last 15 years!!

They have different types for fibre glass and metal paints.

Oh.... and btw I don't work with or am affiliated with the company in any way...

When some drunk prat fell off his bike and scratched the wing of my baby I went to NewLunn (who do TVR Powers bodywork) as they are close by. After discussing the cost of the paint I was informed that if I wanted to wait until someone with an insurance policy ran into me then I could do a pretty effective cover-up job with a Nissan colour (mine is Reflex Charcoal). I went to Halfords and bought said colour and did just that, but while I was at it I also attended to a couple of scratches where I had been a bit heavy handed in the roof department. It did a brilliant job. As the area was relatively small and thin there were no real issues with blending with the existing paint and as the areas were in shadow most of the time anyway there were no "lighting" issues

All you have to do is check to see if there is a similar colour at Halfords and you should be ok.....

Good luck !
