I'm having a problem getting on some websites. I'm on NTL Broadband running a wireless router connected to a desktop PC (wired) and also to my laptop (wireless).
I have been able to access these sites through a dialup connection but not through broadband. If i ping these sites in command prompt they show up fine but what i have noticed is the IP of these sites all begin with 6x (x varies)

Any ideas?

Cheers

Have you ever been able to coonect to thee sites with broadband? I had a problem similar to this when I first got a router but after I changed a setting (MTU I think) they all worked fine.

Been with NTL for 2 years now and i once had this problem but it effected a different group of sites! then suddenly it went and all was fine till it came back recently.
Sometimes if i do a search on google for example, i find i cant get a response from some of the results of that search

Ive tried rebooting my modem and router and changed my IP via DHCP but still the same
Best get onto NTL's wonderfull helpline i think

This was the problem I resolved by changing the MTU setting.

I found the MTU setting on the general setting screen on my router, i altered it from auto to manual and there is a size figure next to it which i havent touched. made no difference its still happening.
I also forgot to mention that last time this happened i connected my desktop direct to modem and problem still existed so i dont think the problem is with the router.
Job for NTL then......

It's a setting on the router (I suppose it's in different places for different routers) it was set to something like 1590,I changed it to 1400 and all has been OK since.
