It was great to meet you all this evening. Quite a turn out for only our second meeting.

Just for confirmation, it looks like we are going to aim to meet for a pint of the official Club brew, (London Pride or is it Coca-cola ) every other Friday. If that gets too much then maybe change it in due course. It is a very relaxed Club, so attend as and when you are free. However, rounds of drinks missed due to your absence will be enforced upon your return! (take note Groomi)

In summary, we hope to organise some driving orientated events, which will be open to R Club Members. So far these are:

1) PHers Virgina Water Meet / Brooklands Visit - 20th February.
2) Goodwood Track Day - May 2005.
3) Tour De France - Summer 2005?
4) Visit to Jaguar - 2005.

Plus any other ideas members have!

Members so far include, the famous five who started this all off, plus:

001 - Jonnie XKR (Logistics)
002 - Laurie S-Type R (Events)
003 - Gareth XKR (Club Secretary) OK I'll do it!
004 - Iain XJR (Route Master!)
005 - Chas XKR / S-Type R (Events)
006 - John XKR Conv
007 - Rsvd
008 - Miles XKR Conv

Hope that the numbers swell and we all get some enjoyment and knowledge form our social gatherings.

Anyone who can set us up our own homepage will be awarded the first prize of the R Club's existance.....

Any thoughts or ideas you all may have, it might be an idea that we dedicate this post until we get our own home page set up.

Till the next time

Gareth

Club Secretary

Shame that I missed it, looks like you had a good turn-out (100% increase in membership )

Gareth, it looks like you had too many pints of official club brew (not coke) as the membership numbers look a bit mixed up

I'll be there next time - looks like i've got a round or two to catch up on

With regards to the website... have we got any computery people in the line-up? If not, I've got a very basic hosting package with my provider that I could work out how to use.

PS: Anybody coming to Ide Hill today?

Hi, Chaps!

Sorry for my rather poor facetime last night, but I had to meet up with my folks for a spot of dinner and a sweet, sweet pint or two. I promise no such further slacking!

I am well up for the jaunt out this coming weekend - thanks for the tip off, Chas. I just hope my head can cope after an undoubtedly boozy night for me on Friday - if anyone wants to help on Friday night at Odiham, more than welcome!

Cheers,

Jonnie.

ps, Gareth, well volunteered and hard cheese!

It was dark, wet and raining, so no. Plus the idea of posting pics of a group of guys drinking beer doesn't really appeal.

Incidently, how do you post pics on PH?

Hey Guys,

Time this thread went to the top of the tree again !
I'm sure all R Club members will be aware that the next get together is this Friday 11 Feb from about 18:00 for a couple of hours at the Elstead Mill at Elstead, Surrey. Subject to the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, I plan on going.

Elsewhere, Groomi says his XJR is suffering from windnoise at twice the legal limit, and has said he plans on being there too.

LaurieB's going to be home from the States and we've got to have his S-Type R ready for him for that evening - complete with push button gearchange on the steering wheel and switchable CATS suspension !

Anyone else know they are coming along for definite yet ?

Gents - are we meeting tomorrow? On the 11th Feb? I guess so - same time same place.
Thinks does anyone want to meet up earlier at the nearby 'Watts Tea Shop' for afternoon T? Have to be there at say 4 as it closes at 5.30.
Watts Gallery Tea Shop is very easy to find.

A3 heading south......
Second junction after Guildford signposted to Compton.
(First is the top of the hill as you would turn off along the A31 - Hogs Back).
End of the slip road is a small roundabout, turn left.
30 yards turn left again into 'Down Lane'.
250 yards along the lane, "Watts Gallery" T shop on yr right.

Text me if you're going to be there and I'll meet you.

Other event ideas - La Mans?

Will try to make it but have some visitors at work today who may demand my attention (dammit). If I dont get there have a good evening and will catch up at the next one.

My S-Type is resting at RG Cars at the moment and I live in hope of seeing it again today .... but if not I'll be driving a distinctly non-supercharged Corsa .... (oh the shame of it ....)

Cheers,
