Fiat panda 4x4 twin air

Picked this up as a replacement for my '06 panda 4x4 that was a trusty daily driver for the last 5 odd years.

'13, 9k miles and sicilian orange. Well specced compared to the older one with electronic locking diff button, bluetooth, a/c etc.

Plenty been written about the twin air engine, it's gruff, bags of character and quicker than it's figures suggest. It's also strangely quiet at motorway speeds.

Plenty of summer adventures down the west coast of Ireland planned, hopefully it serves me as well as the last one!

Tricky one with the twin air as they are very sensitive to how they're driven. I had one tank where I was careful and stuck to 60, got 53. Most of the time it's around 40-42.

That is not too bad but not great either, I am averaging 38mpg in my 170 BHP multiair Giulietta and can easily get over 40mpg on a run. I think I would have to go for the diesel version.

Did a bit of research on the forums first and they appear to be pretty bomb proof. Mind you so was the last one. It just struggled a bit at motorway speeds which the 6th gear and turbo of the new one rectifies.

Really like that although I prefer the looks of the earlier model. I'd love to have a go in one though to see how it goes with the TwinAir. Have you got it mucky yet?

Yours looks great. Just wondered how you're getting on with it as thinking of picking one up once my Golf R lease comes to an end. Actually more excited about the prospect of this than the Golf...

Really. The Golf's hugely underwhelming. The Panda looks spot on. It's going to be a second car, so don't need massive performance. Just fun and practical.
