Aston Martin Vantage issues - specialist in Southampton?
Discussion
Hi guys
I've just bought an 07 V8 Vantage but am having a couple of issues with it:
- Tyre pressure monitor was disconnected - reconnected and getting Tyre System Fault message.
- Cigar lighter not working (replaced a blown fuse to get power back, but not lighting up or staying pressed down)
Also is it normal for the battery to fully drain after 3 days? I replaced the battery but the dealer I bought from is saying it's normal. The manual says up to 45 days is to be expected for a new battery. He says the battery was already replaced in January. Hmm!
The fuse layout in my manual was incorrect as well.
I'd like to consult a specialist and hopefully fix the tyre system fault - does anyone know of a specialist in Southampton? The nearest dealer is 40 miles away in Chichester.
Thanks for your help.
Steve

The tyre pressure system on older cars is a pain since the batteries start to fail on the sensors.
To replace each sensor/valve is circa £120 each (half the price of a V8 Vantage tyre)
I replaced te alloys on my car with newer style alloys and they came fitted with standard valves, so I disabled the TPMS system.
There is a post on here how to do it (very easy) and you do not get any dashboard lights, the system can also be enabled again if someone is keen to buy 4 new sensors/valves.

Harwoods in Chichester is the nearest dealer to you, if you come from Southampton. I use Harwoods as they are my nearest dealer as I live around that area.
I use them but with mixed results.Re the flat battery was it losing it's charge before you reconnected the TPS and lighter socket.

I have been using Harwoods in Chichester for nearly 20 years, 3 jaguars and now my BD9. Martin Young, the Service Manager is one of the nicest and most helpful people I have ever met in the industry.
The drive from Southampton to Chichester is all motorway and a fun drive once you get on to the A27 Dual-Carriageway.

Thanks Hardwoods may be back on it is closer, will probably give them both a ring once I am stuck with the radio. I have seen positive and negative comments on both, just a bit concerned re the cost and time to fix if the fault is not easy to find. Still just drive with no radio and window down.
Contacted Harwoods, spoke to Martin Younge and booked my car then managed to work out the fault with the radio so called them back and ordered the part / cancelled the booking. Very helpful chap and posted the part to me and fitted myself.. So pleased with the experience with Hardwoods.
