I'm seriously considerng buying a cerbera 4.5 in July of this year and I know you folks are probably sick of this question but what are the main problems associated with cars dating from 2000 onwards and what mods should I check have been carried out if any? Im hoping £30k will get me a 2000 up to a 2002 by the time July arrives (there's an 03 for £30k in the Autotrader at the moment)seems too cheap for the year. Have been reading comments posted here for some time now and have learnt alot regarding all types of faults and problems these forums are superb. Also what's the views of you people on Lightweight and Red Rose conversions. Cheers for now your comments are greatly appreciated, regards Simon.

Arguably the most usable gain an ECU remap will make (in the real worldly daily driver sense, available from austec/joospeed) will be a less lumpy ride at low revs. Big thumbs up from everyone, except the man in the corner with no thumbs

Tripps started an interesting thread on MBE vs Emerald, his is already RR spec, search into very recent forum history.

re: 'mods' - Many generally aspire to the usual bits n bobs, Nitrons (generally preferred over AVO's/Gaz) maybe a blended light conversion front and afterburners rear, a new recent clutch and seals would be a bonus. Full and regular TVRSH is the thing to look out for, as well as knowing the cars history and that it has been serviced either yearly and/or every 6k miles. Its a case of 'when not if' your clutch will go, there are no 'main problems' post 2002 cars are more likely to suffer from. Sort the niggles as soon as they arise, buy a good one and you will be fine

But make sure you buy one! You wont have more fun driving anything else
