Saw a very shiny S1-3 turning right out of Station Road onto Wootton High St. last night - a rare occurrence to see another TVR on the Island let alone another 'S'.

I was just returning from playing on the North Island, upsetting a few of the locals. My particalar apologies to the nice chap in the Merc SL? 500 round Horsham

Cheers to all

Gaffer, if you are going to be in Horsham anytime soon let me know as I am living there now and we could meet up for a pint or just to scare more locals!

My two aunties live on the IOW I will tell them to look out for you?? My cousins love Tivs so I will let them know to look out for you, so dont be surprised if you are waved down by two beautiful girls, twins, they will be my cousins! You might have heard of them as they are quite well known on the island, they are the twin girls that ran for England???

Good to hear from you graham, first time I've heard the term 'North Island'..... love it .
I assume the the apologies to the SL500 driver were for leaving him for dead in an old small engined car then .

Hi Mike,

I'll certainly keep an eye out for your cousins!

Hi Harry - I can only assume the Merc was suffering from a slipping clutch after two or three full on sprints off the various roundabouts we encountered

I hate it when these 'boy-racers' try and prove something when they come up against a superior car!

Cheers

How do you all find the IOW ferry when driving the S?

Same way as he does in his daily hack, from Newport head north until you reach the Solent.

Hi Kentish,

No problem at all - the only time I had a grounding was when the Yarmouth ferry was using a temporary slipway and the ramp angle was a bit steeper than usual. I have found the ferry crews to be very careful with low slung cars.

Cheers

Hi Graham,

That's good news, I rather fancy a week on the IOW sometime and if I can fit all the wifes luggage in the S, it may be possible!

Hi Paul

Still running

For all fellow 'S'rs there is no truth in the rumour that Island roads are a little bumpy

- they're not, they're very bumpy!

Cheers

there used to be a sign on the side of the road when disembarking the car ferry at Fishbourne which said;
`Be Careful Island Roads are Different`!!!

If any of you mainlanders feel brave enough to want to experience our wonderful tarmac, I`m sure we could get together for some beers and a bar-b, when its warmer though!
