This week, we (me and mrs S) have driven 1400 miles..
And we only went to one place!
Worcester to Wick and back (via Hinkley on the way back, cheers Matt_T16!)...
I'm tired, but by god aren't some of the scottish roads fantastic!
Really fantastic week, and the photo's aren't too bad either... just need to find a scanner now as they've been shot on 35mm due to the fuji failure!

I take it all back, just realised you drive a Smart
1400 miles and a week in a Smart with two people?
How did you manage to get through it without killing each other?
My father and I did 1700 miles (and three ferries) from High Wycombe to Malta in 4 days in a dirty great Omega estate and had to hide all sharp objects within a few hours of leaving
and to think we actually considered doing that run in the smart.. I'd've killed a few people if I had to do that!
We actually took Mrs S' company hack, so it wasn't too bad... Did Wick to Hinkley yesterday, that was a good run!
On the way down thru the mountains just outside of Aviemore a Tornado fighter came thru the valley @ about 200 feet, towards us... that was rather impressive!

Ive always wanted to go back to Scotland Going to Edinburgh at Easter though would love to go further north
Drove up to my brothers place in Scotland (just north of aberdeen) last year in my cerb from kent, love the roads there drove about 400 miles round Scotland in one weekend. I hope to go back this year and tried to get the g/f to move up there but she won't.
My normal run home
If I had known you were going up there you could have brought a bottle of Old Pultney back with ye.
Living and working in London now but I come from Wick and don't get home often enough.
Glad you could savour the road north of Helmsdale before they straighten it too much and take out all the hairpin bends.

Le-Mans - Quimper
Quimper - Nice (via Loire)
Nice - Le Mans (Via Chateau neuf du pape)
3 Days, 1800 or so Miles in the V70. only really stopped to buy food, and wine amd mustard as we passed Dejon .. Left Le Mans on the Sunday Morning, arrived back at the front of the Circuit 08:00 Wed Morning, then up to Caen for the mid day ferry home
we did have a porta-loo in the back, so toilet brakes were easy enough ... in a Smart though .. I take my hat off to you sir

nice! I did newcastle to praia da rocha in 1 and 3/4 days in the summer...although my maximum speed was around 160mph
lots of high speed cruising and very many fuels stops when you average 12mpg and the tank only holds 5 gallons! it was about 2900 miles IIRCBalmoral Green said:
Tom, for the run to Le Mans, may I suggest this? I am sure you can work out which vehicle is which. ![]()
don't worry warren, I'll bring a length of rubber tubing, a funnel and a few jerry cans - we can sort it out on the way down if we get the cars close enough!
