Am looking at buying a new Boxter S and am pondering the spec. I definitely want the 19" wheels (for purely cosmetic reasons) but am not sure about PASM. Sport setting seems too firm for the road, but I'm not sure though whether Normal is softer than the standard suspension or the same? Has anyone tried PASM and non-PASM cars on 19" wheels? Is it an overly harsh ride on 19" wheels with the standard suspension? Any advice much appreciated!

It's very good on 19" wheels also, but I doubt the standard suspension is too shabby! Have decided to go for PASM though ...

I've spent much time on PASM and 19".... Fantastic.
The PASM is able to run the damper settings much softer than the standard chassis option, if it needs to, so you don't get the nightmare ride when cruising down the motorway, but when you're driving it a little more 'enthusiastically' it all stiffens up and the 19"s show their more dynamic handling perfectly.
What are you going for? Carrera S or Sport Design? (or Carrera Classics?) Sport Designs look fantastic...! Happy shopping!

I test drove a non PASM 987 with 18s and found the ride harsh on rough country roads and choppy when driving slow in towns with the typical bad road surfacing.

Drove a 987s with PASM and 19s for my Test Drive Plus and it was a revelation. Smooth on the country roads, comfortable in town and amazing on the race track.

My car is due to be built in April and I'm now trying to get hold of the salesman to see if I can add it to my spec.

My only worry is that I am adding something else that could go wrong and cost me when the car is older.
