Carbs fitted but I can't get the tickover down?

Cars up and running with the new HP Holley. Problem is I can't get the tickover below 1750 with the butterfly stop screw. Is there another way?

Got an air leak? - check gasket and ensure that all the varios pipes are connected or plugged.

Is the throttle closing firmly against the stop?

No leaks new gasket + a smidgeon of Hermatite blue.

The butterfly's are closed all the way down. (Idle screw is clear of the stop.)

Sounds better already though!!!

Click on the images and they show the position of the butterflies with respect to the idle passages. Also some detail re adjusting idle.

You should use a vacuum gauge as well connected to the hole you sound to have drilled for the advance can. You can do without the gauge but I find better results if you use one as recommended by Holley.
