out down the seaside today and suddenly the alternator warning light flashed up.

the voltage readout on the dial was just below 15v with the engine running.

ran the diagnostic thing and the battery was 68% and the voltage was 12.5v.

when i got home and did the diagnostic thing again the charge was 69% and voltage was 12.4v.

any ideas as to whats up ?

Slipping serpentine belt?

The battery readings look similar to what I remember from the last time I looked.

just got my multimeter out and checked at the battery terminals.

12.7v at rest.

14.7 to 9 when engines running.

so the battery is getting more or less 15v from the alternator but the warning is still on ??!!

looked at the belt with the engine running and everything is rotating fine[apart from the aircon as i cut the belt off].
