Thinking about jumping into one of these as a family car now prices start at around £60k. Love the new version.

Being new to Range Rovers though, I'm curious where people think they see prices going over the next 12-24 months? 2013 cars are now at a price where others have paid circa £30-40k depreciation for you and you can get an almost new car. Loads are selling at this price but obviously this is no indication as there are hundreds/thousands of these out there so they will continue to fall.

Just considering this in terms of hopefully not losing too much money when I come to sell in 12/24 months time. Do we think theyll settle a bit now/soon or do new Range Rovers tend to continue downward in a similar fashion as there are so many on the market?

I just bought a one year old SDV8. I usually buy new, but once I spec'd up the car I wanted, the money was crazy. One year old felt like a more sensible option.

Probably obvious, but my view is that there will continue to be a fairly hefty drop over the next 12 months, but nothing like what there was in the first 12 months. I'm likely to hang on to my car for considerably longer, so over 3 years it should be reasonable.

I've just bought a Sept 14 Vogue SE, paid about 13k less than list. I'll probably keep it for 2-3 years and recon if I loose a £1k/month in depreciation I'll have done well. % wise better than the Mercedes I traded in, £ wise pretty awful...

FWIW the new SPORT seems to have much better residuals than a FFRR.

Worth considering that the new RR has been out roughly 3 years now, I got my first one in Sept 12. Many will be coming out of their warranty and finance period so we might see a lot more coming onto the second hand market which will alter the whole supply/demand situation I think we're currently seeing.

Personally I wouldn't be surprised if RR prices start to come down more sharply than they have in the last 6-12 months be cause of this. RRSports will do the same but will be some 6-9 months after the RRs as they were launched later.

just my tuppence worth....

[quote=sealtt]My very well spec'd SDV8 SE had a list price of £97k new in 2013. I paid £73k at 12k miles in April 2015. From what I can tell I got it at a real bargain......

you certainly got a real bargain
