New Range Sport advise
Discussion
No discounts at LR Dealers have a full order book with approx 6mths wait. I am sure some people have managed a small discount by taking a pre-specified car etc.
Spec wise, most advised a pan roof, and some 21" wheels.
I would always recommend a full size spare alloy wheel for 200 quid and the 5 year service plan. Everything else is personal preference. Having owned our car for 1 year 8 months, the only items I would possibly consider adding are - Meridian Hi-Fi, Apps (not available when I ordered mine)
My spec is: Opening Pan roof, Ebony Roof lining, Privacy Glass, 21" wheels, Electronically deployed tow bar, Heated Steering wheel, External mirrors with memory, heating and dipping, Black Piano wood (this does scratch easily), Full size spare Alloy, 5 year service plan and premium Carpet mats. Dealer supplied mud flaps and rubber internal mats and load area.

Discount - no chance - you may be able to negotiate a free service package and some extras like GAP insurance, Tyre Insurance and Lifeshine etc but in terms of money off it won't happen. There is still a long waiting list for a new build car.
These come pretty well spec'd and even with a basic HSE you will get xenon headlights, heated front and rear seats, keyless go, folding mirrors, heated front screen, sat nav, dab radio, reverse parking camera's, parking sensors all round etc. Anything you add is personal taste really but the bigger wheels make the car look nicer IMHO.
Just do it - the new 3.0 TDV6 engine is a gem - silky smooth, sounds pretty good with 700lb ft torques and 306 BHP which returns an average around town of around 38mpg - fantastic
