USB Audio issues with Premium in Vantage
Discussion
I am currently enjoying my Vantage Roadster on the fantastic (and hot!) backroads of France.
I am delighted to report that the car has performed faultlessly, however I am at the end of my tether with an audio issue.
Basically i have translated a whole load of music from ALAC lossles to 320K MP3 (and WAV) onto a dongle.
The quality of the sound is fantastic, however.....
Many of the tracks are just "skipping" onto the next track at random intervals, but usuallly around 35 seonds into the song.
Needless to say this is doing my head in!
I have tested the download of the music to the dongle from my MAC and it plays all the way through.
Any insight would be gretafully accepted, before we begin a long journey home, and have to either endure French radio, or the less good quality sound from my Iphone.
Cheers
Alan

Do you have another stick with you from a different manufacturer?
Reason I asking is that the system is sensitive to the type of stick. When I got mine I had a stick that wouldn't work, one that would work intermittently and one that worked perfectly. All of them worked perfectly in the computer however.
Not sure about the skipping but the sensitivity is a known issue on here.
My car is MY2010, premium audio.
Hope you get fixed.

have you tried listening to the same mp3's on a PC? It could be that the stuttering is actually now in the mp3's which can be caused by PC problems during the conversion.
If all else fails try ripping a CD again direct to MP3 then put it on the new USB stick after a fresh reformat. If that still skips then either you have a faulty USB stick or there is something wrong with the car audio.

Just a thought, but if you loaded the USB key from a Mac it generates lots of little sample files which begin with a "." - this plays havoc with my system - the easiest solution is to use a PC to clean up invisible files - you need to select the option to make them visible or just load the key using a PC
Just a hint. A as far as I now early Vantage models do have USB 1.x standard firmware built-in. Meanwhile most USB sticks have 2.x and even higher. Not all modern sticks are downwards compatible. Try to get an old one or even better try to find a premium manufacturer like SANDISK, TRANSCEND, KINGSTON, etc. They are more expensive but fully compliant with all USB standards.
Have fun in France. Did you try valley road at Verdon Canyon. Great road to drive...
