Reporting accident questions

Just a couple of straight questions – not happened.

1. If person A was to hit a brick wall, lamp post, etc but not damage any other vehicles or people, and their vehicle be in a fit state to drive off – are they required to inform the police?

2. If person B goes into the back of person C, they have a nice chat, all matey about it, and decide person B will pay person C for the repairs out of their own pocket and drive off – do the police still have to be informed?

3. Likewise if person B was to claim off his insurance, do they have to inform the police?

4. If the police were informed about one of the above, are they likely to fine the person, give them points etc?

5. If you didnt inform them, but they found out later - like CCTV, another motorist, or person C changed their mind and called the police on person B anyway... are you in big trouble?

** Just a few questions as I am interested what the law is on this after reading some other posts, its not happened to me or anyone I know. **

1. Yes if there is damage to property, no if there is none.

2.Yes if damage to other vehicle and name and address of driver (or Solicitor), owner and vehicle VRM have not been exchanged or given to person having reasonable grounds for requiring. Probably no on what stated.
